Aux Fan Current Draw?
I did a search - no results.
I've picked up a couple MBZ stock electric fans from W123s and am putting them on my project 4x4. I'm curious to know how much current one of these bad boys draws. I'm planning on using 1 30A relay to turn both of them on, but if they draw more than 20A a piece than I guess I'll have to seperate them...Perhaps the stickers that use to be on them would answer this....I'm sure someone knows

Depends on how worn that motors are. Of course worn motors pull more amps, especially at start up.
I use an inductive amp meter to test motors and charging systems. (Neat tool for the cost of arouind $15). Test it with a 20 amp fuse in the line and see what it does. It is unreal how many amps that the old type motorized sirens pull. (Your question just reminded me of them). |
