Right now it's a draw which vehicle I drive, between my SD or my Nissan PU. Cost the same within a buck or 2 per 100 miles either way. The SD does about 25mpg, and the Nissan does about 17-18mpg.

On average here in N. NJ the price is 2.15/gallon.

But I have seen 2.76 and 2.95 at some out of
the way gas stations.

Still get 100 miles more per tank full than my
mother-in-law's 04' Elantra.
Who spends $40 per week on gas.
Me, $35 for the week.

Louis.

Currently Diesel #2 @Murphy Oil (Wally World) is 2.039 or 2.009 with the WW Gift card. PP66 is around 2.159 for #2 and 2.039 for UnlReg. Murphey is also 2.039 for UnlReg. So it appears that at least for Murphy Oil the shift has started!?!

Diesel has beenn creeping up lately, up to $2.25 from $2.19 2-3 weeks ago. But yesterday premium gasoline just shot up from $2.25 for the last 2 months to $2.41. Maybe it's a reaction to the refinery explosion in Texas?

Today it is $2.59 in South San Francisco, up the road from where I work. Prolly a lil cheaper back in Hayward.... sucks to see the prices jumping, but my other alternitave is $2.21 on up for g@s and seeing as how my truck avgs 12-13 mpg, I am still coming out ahead...

I keep two 2.5 gal plastic sealable gas cans in the trunk for when I find an outlet with good prices... well, that and my fuel gauge is acting dodgy

At the Hess down the road it's $2.34
At the Hess near the I-75 (Jacaranda Blvd), I saw it at $2.23 a few days ago...might be more now

$2.23 at my local Hess, same as their Prem. gas.

A friend sent me this chain type letter, wether it's true or not I don't know.

WHERE TO BUY
YOUR GAS...

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW.
READ ON--

Why didn't George W. think of this?

Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even be good for us! The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor.

An interesting thought to boycott their GAS.

Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends.

I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy
gas from and which major companies
Import Middle Eastern oil:

Shell............................. 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil............... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco............................62,231,000 barrels

If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION!

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

Citgo.......................0 barrels
Sunoco...................0 barrels
Conoco...................0 barrels
Sinclair....................0 barrels
BP/Phillips..............0 barrels
Hess........................0 barrels

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers.

It's really simple to do.

Now, don't wimp out at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I'm sending this note to about thirty people.

If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it ....
THREE HUNDRED MILLION
PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people.

How long would all that take?

It's around $2.69 here in Oregon. We're converting to WVO right now and making biodiesel. Not just for cost, mind you...

I can't believe that the gas boycott thing is still going around and people just don't hit the delete button when they get it. Not enough people are going to care enough to make even a ripple that will get noticed. It scores phyrric victories at best.
