What does everybody think about a corvette running a VW touareg motor with over 400hp and over 600ftlbs of torque?

A fellow motorhead friend and myself watched that once and tried to figure our what they had done to that engine... Too many years ago now... Anyone have any good guesses? :D

Can't say I remember ever seeing that movie..

I tried freeze framing it when the mechanic guy adjusts something under the hood. I thought I saw two intake runners that are adjusted for...fuel? Who knows... a twin turbo 6.9 with NOS? :D Still it's the absolute best road rage scene with a W116 ;) ....I nearly peed my pants when I saw it...if anyone hasn't seen it and they want to watch a artsy movie with a 116 that makes NO sense at all... Lost Highway is it :) |

GM uses a Detroit-Allison transmission in their HD diesel pick-up line. That should be able to handle the TDI engine but you would have to fabricate some sort of adapter to hook it up.
It all seems like fantasy. There are less expensive engines available from directly from GM that have the same potential and they're not diesel. |

I need to know the weight of the V10
I was thinking of a 1984 c4 corvette. It only weighs 3089lbs .92 g's 200ft skid pad and comes with an all cast iron small block that weighs 600lbs. I can also switch out the front spring with one from a zr1 and can then take a big block's weight. I know a guy that graduated from Hobart with an A average so i should be able to get a roll cage welded up which i am sure it would need with all that torque.

Other projects could include
Crown Victoria + PowerStroke 6.0 Caprice + DuraMax There are diesel dragsters now. They take a Top Fuel Dragster body and mount a large diesel that has been tuned to the hilt. There are videos floating around on the internet somewhere. |
