seat motors

How do I access the seat motors and connectors? I replaced the switch but certain functions still not working.

depends on how dep you want to go

The easiest way to test functions is to reach under the front of the seat and lift the carpet out of the way. You will see a plug with 8 (?) or maybe ten connectors. Pull it loose. The two connectors with wires running into them are for the seat back motor. Each motor runs through the two opposing plugs. If you put pos on one and neg on the other the motor will run one direction. If you reverse this the motor will run the other way. Kind of a b_tch but that's how I finally got my seat where I wanted it...

To actually get to a motor you have to pull the seat which is pretty straightforward but a PITA to deal with. Good time to do a deep clean though if you're into and have a warm place to work.

I bet with the right set of relays/redoing the wiring and appropriate computer software, I could make a small windows/linux app that triggered each seat motor from on the screen....whoa, nevermind....that'd be making them like the modern cars....and then things would always break
