My 83 300D got rear ended a few weeks ago. It got hit hard enough to knock the drivers side tail light into the trunk(although its still connected on the bottom). There was not too much damage so the surrounding metal.

I need to get a new tail light assembly. I have priced the part. But, here is the question.

Does the rubber and chrome trim piece on the bottom of the tail light assembly come with the new one? Or do I have to buy it seperately. None of the parts sites have much info in their descriptions.

Also, if anyone has an extra one laying around, let me know.

As far as I know, it is a separate item.
And, I think I actually do have one sitting around for the drivers side. If not, check eBay and the parts forum downstairs.

I have checked Ebay for both parts, and so far, nothing for the w123 chassis. I have seen a few for the w124 though, and one for what looked like a euro w123, but it was a bit different than mine though... (mine is a US spec)

All the parts sites have the tail light assembly, but no trim piece listed. I might also try hitting local junk yards.

Send me a PM if you find that part, and if you are willing to sell it, price, shipping, etc, etc, etc....
