My vote go original. The thing I'm wondering, why is everyone worrying about the trunk? The trunk in my car is an unpainted black primer color and I've seen other MB's just like that.
IMO 300D's look great in that cream color. Get your wheels polished when you get a chance.

you don't list your geographic location but if you painted the car green yellow and black with white accent stripes you could sell that car here for more money to a packer fan. painting it like holey cheddar cheese would be quaint but only novel for a short time.
