Fllowup on Throttle linkage parts

Just to follow up on the throttle(accelerator ) linkage parts... We have a brand new MB dealership in town... I will visit this morning and post up the part numbers for the several that asked for the throttle(accelerator ) linkgae grommets.
I am pretty sure they will not stock the part but can obtain from Salt Lake City .

In the picture you can see by the arrows where the parts are missing and can only imagie how much pedal play I have because of it. When I depress the go pedal , the pedal does move after about 2" and does bring the throttle(accelerator) stop up and hit that little bolt on th back of the IP.. If nothing else the missing grommets will tight up the pedal feel. I'm not sure there will be any more top end or not.

I posted a pic of my motor because it was just so clean.. I have not touched it in that picture. I threw a little wax on the paint last night just to bring out a little more color.

One Question can the front driver and passenger seat bases be exchanged?
I riding a little low in the saddle....

Yep, my 300D linkage is like that. And by the way, our engines are not throttled. That's the accelerator linkage.

I went to the new MB dealership here in Lindon Utah....

Wo w..that place is sterile!

I went to the parts counter and asked this blond short haired young man ( with a crewcut) for some help. turned out to be a female. ...woops my bad.
They, she ... looked up the linkage in their paperless office and found no such linkage. I asked for a paper manual and they do not have those.
I started top explain what it looked like and got the blank stare....back to the drawing board... where do I contact this Rusty guy for parts.. I need a few others as well..

here is my linkage that looks to be stock and still new looking.. their microfiches showed something completely different.

That's what I was afraid of. You should have had a picture in hand or else had the parts person go outside and look at the car. Now that the dealership has failed, click the Fastlane link at the top of the page. Find the phone number and call. When Phil answers, tell him what you need and that the picture of the linkage is here. He might be able to figure it out.

These grommets or whatever seem to be missing on all the 240s I see. Did mercedes delete them so us 240d drivers would not be passing 300d drivers all the time? One has to wonder. Sure mercedes knows we have the pedals to the floor all the time but that is only a little more than 1/2 available pump travel! T hanks for trying for part number with your local dealer. I was one that asked as well. It's not that i'am lazy............

Barry... I lived in Bedford Nova Scotia back in the early 70s ..they were just getting a Mc Donalds built there... then I moved over to Dartmouth and rented a place overlooking the canadian icebreakers pier/Heliport.

I loved NS.........

Interestingly enough, the Mercedes service manual on the 617.95 diesel engine refers to the linkage as the "throttle linkage." Chapter 30 in entitled "Throttle Control."

Bennett, enjoyed reading your remarks. It's even better here by far now. You were leaving when I was just arriving. You would not believe it. Dropped you a private message.

Ok.. here are the part numbers... I went to SLC, Utah Ken garff Mercedes and they were helpful and still had a time finding the part.
# 202-301-00-93 Guide, thro $1.50 each
hope this helps someone.. if you can't find them , I'll pick more up and send them for cost.

BTW-- the guy behind the counter asked me how I like the power band on that 240D..........I said what powerband?... he said they are" dangeroulsy slow"
As I left I admired a Benz with a $186,000 price on the window... not even a diesel either....

mercedes 300td throttle linkage.

I could not tell but I think I have the same problem as in this fellows picture. Are there supposed to be rubber grommets on the section of linkage in the arrows on the pic? if so where did you get them?
thanks
mercedes 300td

Kind of gives you an idea of how that dealership is paying for its facilites. MBUSA suggested retail on that part is $0.90. You can get it from Caliber Motors which sells whoesale for $0.80. Might want to check their markup on some more expensive things to see if it's as bad.

Thanks for digging it up though. Mine is missing too and I haven't had luck finding it.
