definately a collector's car as its the last year of the w123 and a coupe to top it off. Its not intended for a daily driver by the asking price.

Nice car, all stock, and a veritable time bomb. I bought my '83 300SD 9 years ago for $9,000 with 67,000 mi on it. Beautiful California car, garage kept and all the maintenance records. After this many years all that is mentioned in above posts will need work. I have put over 100K on mine with just the usual amount of maintenance. 3 alternators, 2 batteries, new front end suspension, shocks, 2 AC compressors, climate control, new 15" wheels, 2 sets of tires, 4 sets of brakes, a set of rotors, glow plugs and a transmission all for around $10K. It now needs paint, more front end work, cruise amp, tach amp, window motor, and front seats another $3K. If your looking for a trouble free car, nada, if your looking for a beautiful piece of machinery that will last as long as you want, it's your call. Price for this car should be no more than 8-10K. Gotta go work on the car again, good luck.

Good point, but I was simply choosing between a mint 20-year old MB diesel and a new plain-vanilla car like an Accord. I have to admit for $22K I'd also live happily with a nice 99 E300D.
