Fuel, temp, oil pressure plug 83 300SD
[FONT=Arial]Fuel, temp, oil pressure guages acting squirrely. Temp guage began moving
erratically, first twitching intermittantly, then pegging to maximum temp after driving a few miles. Radiator cleaned, belts good, new water pump and stat last year. The car has no problems except for FTO guage. After replacing temp sensor and changing out FTO guage cluster, have traced problem to loose fitting multi-contact round plug which brings signals to FTO cluster in dash. Cleaned male and female plug/guage contacts, but can't get the plug to keep constant contact. Have same problems with 'old' and 'new' guage cluster. I can hold the plug in place and get a 'good' contact, but can't do this while driving. Any solutions? Small jumper leads between M/F contacts? Whatever? Thanks. Jones |
