300SD alarm possessed
Hey y'all
I'm new to this, so I ought to thank you in advance for your patience. I've a 300SD, and the alarm is misbehaving. It will turn on (sometimes, not always), when I turn on the lights! Locking/unlocking the doors does not work (I tried driver and passenger side). any thoughts? mickey 1985 300SD |

Best fix if you ask me?
Unplug the darn thing. If you remove the passenger side carpeting, you will find the alarm control unit underneath. There is a big, black plug that you'll see on the top of the control unit. Pull that plug, put a piece of electrical tape over it and be done with it. You can of course, begin diagnosing to see whether it is the control unit at fault (most likely) or a door switch. But I doubt the chances are high that your 300SD will be stolen nowadays.

Aaron
thanks for the help. I'm leaning that way myself. FWIW it seems to be behaving again. (I always check if the lights flash now that I can't hear the horn |
