Central Locking System W124 300D failure..are door actuators usually the fault?
 

My W124 1987 300D Central Locking System doesnt work and the electric vacuum pump checks out fine, in fact I have a second pump as a spare. Weirdly enough, a couple of times the CLS came to life then and then vanished. Once this happened after I drove through a heavy rain with puddles and the system came to life for 3 or 4 days.
Because of this I thought I was having a ground issue, but I couldn't find one.

Are door actuators usually the fault? :indian_ch I was told this by my Indy. The actuator isn't that much. What is really a nusiance is taking the door panel off and putting it back on.

Has anyone ever successfully troubleshooted and repaired this system?
