New High Mileage awards

As many of you know it has been difficult to get the high mileage badges due to a "re-design". Apparently they were redoing them and I personally like the old designs better.

I can't get the picture on here but heres a link to it on the Mercedes site. You and can also download the application now.

gotta agree with you there - like the 'old' design better.

hmm.. now my old 250k badge is a ''classic''

looks like they added 2 new badges 750k kilometers
and 1.0m miles ... they never had those before did they?

Now this just makes me mad ... I liked the old ones far better. And I ordered mine in JULY, so I should have one. It was allegedly mailed to me, so my beautiful old-style badge is out there floating in limbo somewhere and I'll only get a new, less-classy one instead (if I ever get that).

Of course, it was "free" so I can't very well say that MB "owes" me anything ...

Oh well, at least I can buy an old one on Ebay at some point.

The latest: I placed call #6 to MB, and this time got a friendly woman who gave me a fairly thorough explanation of the current badge situation. The badges are in, and they are no going through the long process of sorting through all the backorders and orders that fell through earlier. Apparantly they did have major shipping problems, with many people never getting their products. She confirmed that they will now be using FedEx. She said they hope to be on top of the whole mess, with badges shipped out, within the next month. Light at the end of the tunnel?

I still want an old-style badge.

Ah, nothing's wrong with the new ones ... they're actually stylish and subtle. But I want an old one because they're the old ones ... I just associate the old look with the "achievement" of high mileage. I have no explanation for most of the things I think/do.

Not a big deal, as long as I get SOMETHING for my grille eventually!

I sent my form out 2/4/05, rec'd by MBUSA on 2/7/05. I got it back on 3/6/05 with a letter stating that I forgot to place the serial numbers of the cars on the application, although the dealer and representatives on the phone said I did not have to. I'm resending the forms tommorow, via certified mail, and I'll be requesting a return receipt to make sure they get it.

I agree. I don't hate the new ones, they are quite nice. I would just rather have the older style. The older style badges have different colors for the higher the mileage where the new ones only have different numbers.
