Thumbs up SD guys - another question (just open the door!)

All I have to know is when you open the drivers door is there one of the black plungers in there or are there two?

When at Pick-N-Steal I grabbed some of them from an SEL as to make my dome light function again. The car I grabbed them from had two in the drivers door.

My SD only has one but below it is a black plug of some sort, like it's not supposed to be there.

FWIW - I have the '85 SD with factory alarm.

My 126, although not an SD, has two plungers. One does the lights. The other one I suspect is for the alarm.

Thumbs up

Hrm.... the alarm eh? Interesting. Glad I have a few spares.

I was hoping it was for the door locks. I can't get them all to lock and unlock from the drivers side.

2 Switches
One for Dome Lights
The other to piss you off when you open your door and your keys are in your igntion and the engine is not running. (IE...remove your key reminder).
Its a bugger when you are working on your door or have that one open and want to listen to some tunes!

BTW the top one is dome lights and the bottom one is the chime sensor.

Actually the two plungers on the drivers door side are for the dome light/ignition buzzer when the key is in (top plunger) and the bottom one activates the power seat when the door is open, so it can be adjusted by the driver before they get in the car, without the key in yet....this was a fancy feature. I actually think its pretty clever.

I never even though of that today as I was testing the operation of my seat switch and the door was open and the key was in my pocket.
How innovative...nothing like being 6'6" and getting in a car where the last driver would merely reach my knee in height

YES!
I usually use my flashlight and cram it in there somehow.
Also found out that my flashlight works well to jam into the accelerator linkage when jump starting cars and you need about 1000-1500RPM to get the alternator putting out decent power.

THank you for the pic...it made my morning.
