Another K1 kit question
A fellow member was kind enough to send me a K1 spring kit so I could try and repair the 2-3 shift flare I've been dealing with. I could not get the parts locally or through the online sources I checked, so this was a real lifesaver.
Problem is, the plastic plunger in the kit (it looks like an engine valve) was broken during shipping. Is it possible to re-use the old one when performing this repair? Is the old part the same, or is this an upgrade? Would the assembly even come apart without shattering? Thanks, once again, for any help. |
Compare the old one to the new one. I imagine they are the same.

Oh man, sorry to hear about the broken part. I really don't know if they are interchangeable or what. I'll pick up a couple more kits next week and if worse comes to worse send the part to you.

I am not sure that they'll interchange, either. Looking back at the mbz.org article, it seems that the old plunger has a cross-section that looks like a plus ( + ), while the new one has a rounded shaft.
