Not a problem for those of us who's garage is so full of car stuff that you can't even fit the cars in. My paved driveway seems to work alright with the ramps...they dig in pretty good. I've spun a rear tire before trying to get up on the ramps...takes a bit of a go to get that heavy mass up on the platform

Just don't drive up and over the ramps!

Now that is an intersting place to fix a Honda, I would have never thought of putting a tree under a car...

Since getting a nice floor jack, I only use my Rhino Ramps as another set of jack stands.

With the Rhino Ramps, I would back up a little bit and then "take a run" at them. If you're going fast enough you can get the front tires up and onto the top before the ramps slide forward.

But you've got to be fast on the brakes or else you'll drop the car over the backside of the ramps.

This is why I don't use store-bought ramps much at all anymore. I have a set of nice metal ramps, and they slide all over the place, too, when I try to drive up on them. That's scary. Plus, I find that the ramp itself reduces my mobility on a creeper when I'm trying to work under the car.

The idea of "taking a run" at the ramps is really scary.

Honestly, I use some old bottle jacks to raise the cars I work on and then support them with properly rated jack stands on a solid concrete garage slab.

I had that happen too, and then I put them out at the curb with the other trash. That was over 20 years ago. Jackstands and floor jack for me, and ALWAYS at least one redundant support. And this is only when it has to be raised. Last time I pulled the engine/trans I did it without ever jacking it, it was on 4 tires the whole time. The car will NEVER, I repeat NEVER, fall off the floor.

They should outlaw the cheap metal drive on ramps that have two support straps along the sides. Know of two cases of them folding up or breaking. Much rather use short lengths of surplus 2X10s and build my own if I used ramps. Just stack and naill like a layer cake. Cheap and strong.
