Engine type help for a 1980 300SD 116bs
Can anyone please help? I have a beautiful 300 SD that needs an engine. My engine is new but is missing a engine oil galley plug. It does not have any oil pressure because it was left out during the rebuild. Instead of tearing it apart and finding it, I would like to find another engine from a rust bucket. I don't know WHAT ENGINE WILL GO STRAIGHT INTO THIS CAR???
I don't want to modify anything. I also have a new transmission so I really don't want to change that unless I have to. Any help would really be appreciated from someone who knows instead of someone like me who would be guessing.

Pictures of your engine on both sides would help...
and getting the engine serial number off the side will help also.. If you are sure it came with the car then the vin numbers will help also...
