(if my prophesy does indeed come true, should we credit BMW for reviving the small car market in America ? =)

I for one, would LOVE one of those VW 'citi golf's...

I have a Ladyfriend in Salta, Argentina(650km north of Buenos Aires) ans she has a 95 Pugout 505 TDI--she relates to me that their is a lot of these nifty small small diesel cars there and also in Neighboring Chile. Repair work on these pugeot Turbo diesels is a little pricey though, my friend's head overheated last week and to redo it, cost is $2400argentinian peso or $800 US Dollars-a princely sum for a school teacher.Think they are ripping her off bigtime(by maybe $500-$600)

Smart move

When I was at the MB training center last month, we saw a factory video of
a Smart Fortwo (city car) in an offset 40mph head-on with a W220 S-class.
The S-Class got hammered and completely crumpled like designed. The Smart
deformed about 8in ( you could see the energy traveling through the exterior Saftey Cage) and bounced off the S landing 10 ft away on its side looking completely intact. We were told the data from the dummies showed very little injury. Both cars destroyed however.
We got to play around with a Fortwo with a gas 3cyl turbo motor.
It had the automated 6-spd and cloth roll-back roof.
Cool car. I would like one for commuting in Seattle's traffic.
We may never see them unless the Euro cools down and the Dollar picks back up.

Id love to have a SMART, or even a VW Polo, but until I can get one
I'll take a Citroen 2CV Id never want one for highway use, but around town, and on little jaunts into the countryside surrounding my town, a 2CV would be perfect.

Those Mini Coopers are really put together--wouldn't it be dynamite if they put a Turbo Diesel in a Cooper?
