Received my Bilsteins

I got my bilstein shock absorbers for my w123 from performance products today. I did not realize they would be gas-charged... from what i understand there are oil-type shock absorbers and gas charged, am I correct in saying this? From the Haynes manual it seems as if installing gas-charged ones is more complicated, can anyone give any insight to this? Thanks.

Regardless of type, the installation procedure should be the same for both.

Can anyone tell me what the heck a dust cover is? Are they already on the Bilsteins? Or do i transfer whatever this is from the stock ones? I think they are the Heavy Duty kind, part number on the larger shocks (i assume these are the front shocks) is B36-0704.

That's the rubber accordian boot that goes over the shock to keep dirt off the exposed rod.
