Definitely want to find out where that diesel is coming from, because you should be getting better mileage than that if it was highway driving.
It was mostly my daily commute, which is about 7 miles city and 13 miles highway each way. The bad thing is that the highway miles are during rush hour so there is still a lot of stop-and-go. I was content to get close to the EPA rating of 27 city MPG - I am sure it will do mid-30's or better on a liesurely highway cruise.

I found (and removed) a small sticker in the corner of one of the rear windows just now... says "Double Detailing, Inc. 1801 Piedmont, Atlanta. 404-872-5188. Blue Coral Detailed". Well allright. :-) Now I know my car has previously spent time in Atlanta, North Carolina and Ft. Worth Tx.. I may run a carfax on it just to see if I can find out any more of its history.

It will probably come down to the mood I'm in when I'm in the store.
Without a doubt, the Mobil 1 is the better oil. However, do you really need it? I've been using Rotella-T synthetic for the past two years and my oil analysis results at 5K intervals are unbeatable in terms of wear metals.

If you choose to go for additional mileage on the oil, then serious consideration should be given for the Mobil product.

The Rotella is currently $3.25 per quart. The Mobil 1 Truck and SUV oil can be had for $4.00 per quart. Now it's got me to thinking...................

I am going to go for the Rotella for this first oil change. It is $13.xx for 5 quarts at Wally world - that's almost free.

Just make sure everything else is right before you go hacking stuff.
