What Would Happen IF>>>

what would happen if i swaped out my turbo 300d pistons with a lower compression pistons? would this enable me to run? say 20lb of boost?

Can this work?

Why would you want lower compression? You will have trouble starting it, for sure. You will lose fuel economy, for sure.

And for what? Possibly being able to carry additional boost at the top end?

What are you going to do with the additional boost? How are you going to get enough fuel into the engine to take advantage of the boost?

The entire approach makes no sense. If you want more power from it, then you must add an intercooler. Even with the intercooler, the IP will probably need modifications to get enough fuel to take advantage of the lower charge temperature.

Additionally note that you might get a 20% increase in power with an intercooler. This means that a 617 might be able to put out 145 hp. It still is not going to be a rocketship by any means. In fact, the SDL, dead stock, would probably run neck in neck with it.

All that work and expense and what did you gain????

Ok, Hunter... at first I smelled something fishy... maybe just trying to get someone like Brian going... but looks more like just the songs of youth.... singing into an empty well not capable of producing the kind of power they want.... The Gasoline Mustang was the best idea....

Google.com search + E-mail is fastest.
I was looking at a nice Finland mod pack, only $28,000.00 USD, they had a cheap one for $7,900.00 USD, but those where good professional mods.
If you join the diesel engine mod game, you better have deep pockets, an engine every three to six months is not shocking.
I have a friend who races diesel, he junks an engine roughly every five hours.

Good point.
His engine holds thirty eight quarts.
Each engine is rebuilt and oil changed every race.
He filters and burns the engine and transmission oil in his pickup truck.
Storage truck carries five fresh engines built and ready to swap between races.
Shop truck has a full machine shop.
Lowboy carries his race rig.
Two motor homes for crew and towing his pickup.
