Semi-hard start??
I'm soooo happy with this car! I bought her with 233k miles. Replaced all filters and tried a can of diesel purge for good measure. She idles nice and smooth. I also adjusted the boost, set it to 11 psi at 4000 rpm, didn't want to get too crazy with it. I really coul;dn't feel much difference until I adjusted the alda, now it really flies! Very little smoke. I love this thing!! My question today is it seems the car is harder to start after a fairly long high speed run. I drove it at about 80 mph for about 60 miles. I stopped at a store for a couple of minutes and when I came out it took longer to start than normal. It normally starts with 2-3 seconds of cranking. After this run it took closer to 10 seconds. I,ve noticed this more than once. She always starts and runs normally but does take more cranking to start. Is this normal?? Thanks guys.

Try counting to 10 after moving key to prestart position before cranking. A lot of diesels seem to like a little glow plug cycle prior to hot start even. Suspect there is a slight period after the light goes out where glow plugs are still active but not really sure on this brand. There is on others. If light is coming on with engine hot for a few seconds before extinguishing just wait about six seconds before cranking after light goes out. Or turn key off and give another short cycle with light on . Try it as it may solve your problem or may not but easy to do. May give an indication of too short a cycle or even something else. Two of my other non mercedes diesels seem to always have acted like this for whatever reason for years. In otherwords you may be cranking as glow plugs are still just starting to heat up. I also realise glow plugs not required on warm engines but as mentioned some engines are strange.

Pump the air out of the fuel system if you didn't after changing fuel filters.
