Unhappy No Reverse

I have a 1983 240-D Automatic trans with a sticky reverse. If I let the car run for about 20 or 30 mins it will go into reverse. The trans is full of fluid and it changes fine on the road. I was reading about an ajustment on the bottom of the trans in my hanyes book. My quistion is has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do about it, and what is the ajustment spring about.

but seriously...have you tried running TransX in it and changing fluid...in case its a varnish buildup..........I assume its not a linkage issue as it goes from park to drive.

[B]I'll second that!!![B]

I'd start by changing fluid and filter, but neither Bowden, or modulator, will adjust what you describe!

I must say, that is a really funny movie.

Anyway, I'd say your B1 piston might be in a bind, or isn't sealing good to compress the B1 band. You might want to try transX and do a fluid and filter change.

No...I get what I feel is a decent price or I walk out the door.......when I quote prices elsewhere the few times I have ordered from the dealers they usually offer a better price.

And this at a less than reputible dealer HBL of Tysons ....
