I'm going back to driving my 300D :)

Gas prices now make it less expensive to drive the diesel again. It'll cost a couple of bucks less to drive it the same amount than it does with the Silverado. The Silverado is very powerful, comfortable and very quiet while driving but it feels like navigating the Titanic sometimes. The 300D will be easier to get around in traffic and park at work.
Now I can go back to racking up the miles on it.

Talking Putting diesels back on road.

This is not logical. It will drive diesel fuel prices up. The more members that park their diesels the lower the demand the cheaper the price. Totally counterproductive as I have been trying to get everyone to park their diesels so they will have to beg me to take the diesel fuel.

Switch that diesel to WVO and you cut your fuel cost in at least a HALF.

Good to hear you are enjoying the Mercedes again.

I know what its like to drive Silveradoish Vehicles around town...total pain in the ass...

I love the Beetle for in town...since I can do ricer lane changes and park in half a spot

Started driving it today. It's a blast to drive. Only trouble is that I drive the poor thing with my foot all the way down on the pedal. It responds nicely but the steering feels heavy after driving the Silverado. It does get around well and was a breeze to park.
Now that I'm down closer to the ground, headlights from other cars are more bothersome again. At least I can flip the day/night setting on the rearview mirror to lessen the glare from the back. I'm not looking forward to someone's HID's.
Nice to be back to buring oil, now if I can only get a reliable source of WVO.

Cut your fuel prices IN HALF with WVO? Are you using too many expensive filters or what. I would estimate (not including the cost of conversion, you're looking at an 90% savings if you get the oil free and find a cheap way to filter. And it costs me 60 cents a gallon to make biodiesel. I calculated that if I paid someone 10 dollars an hour to make it for me using my processor I would still be paying less than $1.50/hr.

Same thing here...I had my B2 piston replaced last week and am now driving my 300D again as it gets about twice the fuel mileage compared to my Passat W8 while commuting in the DC traffic. That old 300D is still my favorite car.
