"desiel engines can run over a MILLION MILES"
"There will be no test drives in advance." sure, we trust ya...
"The only things that I knwo of are not that big of a deal... and it sometimes will shift hard in the rear." thanks for mentioning THAT.

(nice spelling btw...)

Geez, I got another 750K yet to go?

I looked today at NADA current values for the 87 300D, and $3900 would reflect a car in far better condition than this one. It would be interesting to read the history on that 603, even disect it to see how they wear, if that is the original engine.

That would be all the more impressive if the opposite held true.

I saw one being rebuilt. Owner's ex-wife put gas in it, on purpose. How did she become an ex......?(!) The diamond blue / ash SDL died before it's time with only 487K miles ticked out.

Which lasts longer? The 616/617, or the 60x engines? Hmmmm....,

I've said it many times.. I've seen many more high mileage 603 engines than I have 617's. I couldn't even count the 300SDL's, 300TD's and 300D's I've seen with 350-400k+. I have photos around somewhere of a local one-owner 87 300SDL with 435,000 that is still cruising around.

I think my old 300SDL has the original #14 head with over 330k on it now. If Plantman looks he can confirm this.
