No Glow Plug Light...

Thought my recent experience with my glow plug light would interest some.
All of a sudden a few weeks ago (in a land far away?) my dash light for the glow plug didn't come on. The car started ok, so i thought it's just the bulb burned out. being a good municipal employee, during work time i went out to see if i could replace it. i used my saw on my leatherman to gently pull on the sides of the instrument cluster and slowly pulled it out. i discovered the bulb and socket had just fallen out and was laying behind everything.
PM me if you want pics of me opening my leatherman...
moral of the story::::
do all the work you can on "company time".
check the simplest and cheapest things first.(especially if your cheap like me).
take lots of breaks.
don't buy glow plugs if just your light is out.
and finally.... enjoy everyday, take lots of deep breaths, and don't watch too much TV.

Glad to hear your car is just falling apart rather than any major issues. :D Really though your thread illistrates well that no harm is done by having a preliminary look prior to jumping to the conclusion problem is bad or more difficult. I always consider finding a simple solution as a pleasant suprise.:sun_smile

yeah, it's like a bunch of parts moving in tight formation... LOL. or was that my last ford.???
i knew since it started ok the day before, then when the light didn't lite, if it started ok, then it was the light. ?? yeah, that's right.
so, anyway, it just fell out behind the dash, probably when i ran over a jackalope on the way home that day, and bounced it out.
no harm in checking cause the dash comes out so easily (on city time). with my city issued leatherman.
video of me taking a break in the middle of the project to follow...
