In a perfect world you home-brew bio guys would get recognized for your efforts. Aircraft industry has the experimental aircraft license, for example. Perhaps an 'experimental fuel' license tag that comes with a road tax exemption for home-brew fuel.

My understanding of the color observation test is that there's two types of followup test:
1. Guilty until proven innocent. You get the ticket and fine, and get to defend yourself in court if you choose.
2. Additional sample taken and analyzed for sulfur content. Expensive to test and expensive to track you down if guilty, so most states take option 1.

On my last batch of home brew I filled a 55 gal barrel with about 20% kero to cut the cold fuel issue (still cold up here). It was dyed so technically I'm in trouble.

Interesting stuff as WVO still grabs me. My son my start doing his own brew.
Hey Don!

I know I'll be processing my own this summer. I just have to find a WVO source.

The difference I see is that you can fly all you want but you don't wear out the air whereas, no matter what fuel you put in the tank, it still wears out the road. Now, if your car is a hovercraft, I would think it should be road tax exempt since it doesn't hardly touch the road..

If, when I was running some red, had gotton caught by my local police friends...I probably would have been shot on the spot considering what sort of punishment I got for a 25 cent light bulb being out...

I run my bio now and its a brownish color...if they gave me any grief I would claim really bad tank algae

So you guys are telling me I need to spend some time in the lab and find something that this red dye reacts with to produce, hm...blue?
