Heat shield for a 300D

Is there a heat sheild (sheet metal) below/behind the air cleaner? not the little cups that protect the rubber air cleaner mounts but a more substantial (~10 square inches at least) sort of on the left of the battery tray and above the exhaust manifold? In the picture I recall seeing one between the AC line and the exhaust manifold....

I saw a picture somewhere of a 300 SD that was pointing out the air cleaner mounts and the oil return tube. vuisisble in the picture was aheat shield. My 300D does not have one....is it missing? did it ever have one?

Don't see one on my 83 300D............and I had it off to replace one of the rubber isolators that had failed.

the T shaped thing is the bracket...and all the 617 engines have it.....the federal ones anyway....I don't have the heatshield in the bottom left corner however......on either of my cars or my parts car.

Not the bracket.....the silver colored heat shield further back....My car doesn't have it either....maybe shields the batt from alittle heat? or the AC line?

The 85 Kalifornia has a heat shield between the battery and the manifold/turbo. The 83 has no shield.

300 SD Heat Shields

Anybody have a photo of the heat shields on the 617 exhaust manifold, as installed in the 126 chassis? I need to braze some parts & mounting tabs back together, kinda lost track of what goes where... Thanks, BigMac
