Trying to Bash Old Wives Tales
If you want to disable the glow plugs as a precaution that is fine..
But it is perfectly OK to use a 3 second aerosol spray of starter fluid into the intake of these engines while cranking to start them... JimSmith and other trusted individuals have settled this controversy in the past... |

The only time it smoked is when we started it up the first time from sitting for about maybe a year.

Well seems I tested the glow plugs wrong.... I didn’t unplug the wiring harness from the relay switch and it gave me a good reading..
So I found out only one glow plug was working. I called checker auto parts for ****s and giggles to see if they had any glow plugs. And they did, on the back of the box it says replaces BOSCH 0250201001 which is the number that is on one of the glow plugs I took out. Now taking them out will be the fun part, does anyone know how to get the 5th one out easy? Because the oil filter housing is in the way... |

They can be a bugger to get out less you have tiny hands, got any kids I was going to pick up a 12mm gear wrench today which I think might be "the tool"

Well today i went and got 5 new glow plugs and a trip to sears to get a 12mm gear wrench. The wrench really helps! Thanks Stevo for the idea
Got that done then it was on to the glove box and grille.. And then did the fuel line... |
