Hope both of mine see that mark without significant investment required.

Yes Congratulations!!

Good thing you had a camera handy!! Hope you don't start work at 7:00 because your gonna be late.
Was that you I saw on the highway taking pictures doing 80 mph??

JK

My temp reads on Deg C also. It's not that hard to convert to deg F.
F=C x 1.8 + 32

On March 17, 2004, after I arrived home,

I borrowed my wife's digital camera and then drove around the neighborhood for about 10 minutes so that I could take a picture of the odo on our '85 300TD when it turned to 333333. But I'm the third owner and could only claim credit for about 24,000 of that.

Both my cars read in degrees C.

Easy to convert.

Take reading x 2
Subtract 10% of that
Add to 32

For example:

If reading is 14, multiply by 2 to get 28.
Now subtract 2.8 and you get 25.2, or about 25.
Add to 32 and the result is 57 degrees F

The problem here is that you shouldn't try to convert:

that's what gets people all uptight about measuring systems other than their own. If you just get used to what 20c feels like, you don't have to calculate that you feel the same as you would at 68f. And the same goes for 130 kph vs 80.6 mph.

That's why we have so many people in this country who can't speak English.

I am surprised that so many US cars have Celsius Temerature readouts.
My SDL from Texas has a Deg.F readout and I have been thinking about changing it for a Deg.C gauge.

Where's the temp thing come from? Can this be bought as a seperate part? I'd like one in my 123.
Thanks.

I'm an American. I drive in Miles, I measure small distances in inches, feet and yards, I tell temperature in Farenheit.

I speak some German and Hindi, but I think in English.

Sorry, it'll always be a conversion for me....
