Maybe somebody here can enlighten me.
If you have a " Big Rig " that get's @ 4 miles per gallon & travels 100 k miles a year, it does not get tested.
If you have a car that get's 25 miles per gallon & travels 20 k miles a year it must be tested.
Where did the " Train of Logic " go off the track ? :o

Move to Florida and enjoy the sunshine, no income tax and no emissions testing period.

My motto is if the state is too wealthy (through taxing its citizens), it will find ways to spend the money to annoy/harrass its taxpayers. (I am an ex New Yorker)

When I took mine in I didn't even really run it, it was just coming up to temp as I got to the shop. He took my car put it on the dino and ran it for a few minutes. He said it passed no problem, it didn't even come close to the limits.

He never opened the hood and my egr has been gone for awhile.

Ah! We have a winner! This is the reason for most smog testing. On most cars all you ever have to do is change the oil and filters just before the test and it will pass with flying colors and that is with every smog system inoperational and/or disabled. I have seen '65 cars pass. So do your maintenance and quit worrying about it.

All the more reason to stop being a "Blue" state and become a "Red" state....

Blame your politicians for that one..Figure out who voted for screwing you...and then get rid of them the next election. They figure you are keeping too much of your money and needed to seperate more of it from you.

My state has been red for at least the last 2 elections.

My friend's 1979 rabbit (1.6L) passed DEQ here no problem. It has a ancient CAT (might not even be anything inside that unit...sounds hollowed out) and the EGR stuff wasn't operational at the time.
I was amazed that it passed.

Anyone who is worried about the test and they feel that they smoke too much, just turn down your ALDA a turn or two and take the test :D

Adjust post BS

Rub a couple tanks of B100 biodiesel and test it before putting any more dino in it. :D

Why those stinking politicians... they dont test the big rigs. If they did they'ld be forcing more emision controls on them..... We want to lower the big rigs fuel effeciency. The we would be paying more for the products the truckers deliver. Then we would have to invade Mexico to get their oil. (course then no more immagrant prolbems.:P) . ... damn stinking polititians for listening to the truckers lobby. :sun_smile

(just being a devils advocate) :P
