Need 1997 E300D Wood Dash Trim

Hello

The long skinny wood trim that goes horizontally across the center of the dash from the steering wheel to the pasenger door got cracked pretty badly It is the only noticeable flaw in the car now, and bugs the crap out of me. Does anyone know where I can get a new one or the glossy stick on wood overlay they overcharge on ebay for? I could put that over the cracked one to make it look good again? Thanks!... Indy

You can always try refinishing it yourself if you're handy. You don't have anything to lose if you're planning on buying a new one anyway.

I am handy, but it looks like it is a 1/16 thick clear lexan coating over the veneer or whatever it is. It's a spider crack. One of the holding screwes was forced sideways when replacing the trim causing it to spider crack.... Thanks!... Indy
