Angry sorry I need to vent

Sorry but I need to get this out. Last night my mother took my fathers 4 month old dark blue Malibu to work (Bed Bath and Beyond) and came out to find not a small dent, but $600 worth of damage from shopping cars blowing around and they were to lazy to chase them down on an extremely windy day. The cart hit hard enough to bend the mirror back against the car, put a 3 inch long dent next to the door handle and crack the molding on the side (also dented the metal behind the molding).

My father was so pissed he told my mother to take the car again today to show and ***** out the manager, so he took my car to work today instead of moving all the cars around to get my mothers Buick out.

He managed to hit 2 nails driving by a construction site that had a bunch of s*** in the road (driver front and passenger rear tires), at least thats all I saw but its hard to see in the afternoon sun.

Why do people buy expensive cars? My father also has really bad luck with windshields. (2nd on the Malibu, 3 or 4 on his 02 Saturn he traded in).

I'm so fed up with the condition of our roads and the lack of competence of 80% of the drivers out there. You probably remember the oil pan I replaced due to hitting a chunk of cement that came out of a pot hole as I was coming around a corner! Not to mention the alignment of my right tire is visibly off right now as well, guaranteed caused by potholes.

Thank for listening, hope you guys have better luck then we do in this house.

You see the two vehicles at the bottom of this page?

I would have to be a moron to take either one of them "shopping". If I absolutely must, when away on a road trip, they sit at the far end of the lot, away from every single POS in the lot.

Local trips are what the 1989 B-250 is for. Blast away with those carts, doors, kids, whatever. I couldn't give a $hit.

Tell me about it, I probably have a cool $1k worth of crap to fix thanks to college. I always try to park next to a nice Jeep and Lexus and they seem to do the same. It helps a bit until some pos truck parks 6in from my door and sends me a nice ding. It is impossible to keep a daily driver nice people just don't care.

I hate to say it, but it sounds like you have bad luck! But having only bad luck is better I guess than having no luck at all!

Roads here in michigan ARE terrible, and they don't fix them, thats the problem, if they'd at least patch the holes, or craters...as many are....it'd be wonderful....they are everywhere....only about 20% of the roads around here are actually somewhat smooth riding, thats it...does horrors to a cars suspension.....sigh.

I hate it when they fix the roads around here
With smooth roads, how else am I going to find all the squeaks and rattles that the new car owners complain about?

I had no idea how terrible the roads in Michigan were until I wnet back for a visit a few years after having moved to Florida. I was shocked at what I found - Several times I thought the suspension would be seen in the rearview mirror as I was driving down I-94. Even driving on residential roads, the concrete was so broken up, I started to get motion sick.

Even if,for some odd reason, I didn't mind the cold anymore, the roads alone keep me from wanting to consider moving back there. Yeeech!

I agree 100% park way in the back and take 2 spots.
People don't mind if you take 2 spots in the back but if you do it up front you just may find your car keyed while your gone.

Try Michigan roads on a motorcycle.

Can you say "Dodge the mines in a minefield?"

Best Regards,
Jim

You have not seen rough roads until you visit Houston. Come take a look, potholes everywhere.

It's pretty much like a video game in some areas. White knuckles, leaning in as far as you can without touching the screen. LOL
