What do you think its worth ?

Since there are serious swings in values and prices (I tried to average with give and take ) I would like honest opinions on the worth of the following 1984 blue Mercedes Benz 300d,208k miles, chrome wheels, wood shifter,Nardi steering wheel,Bosch square headlights.Known defects faded paint on hood and roof, air condtioner need a compressor and some chrome is fading of the left front wheel.Inside seats and wood are like new (they were from Kitten-1985 beloved cream 300d that was destroyed by an unlicensed 17 yo who showed no remorse and only got minor community service).New brakes, belts, hoses etc.Window motors and locks as well.Really do not want to sell ( but as in any good marriage-showing I am flexible and do not need 3 Mercedes since a certain someone else only has 2 Volvos but does like car pooling in my Benz) but at least I can say I tried.I thought 3k with 10% give and take and try ebay or this forum.Again input (be honest can not be honest be kind) sincerely appreciated.

As a buyer I would not go over $2K for it but then I'm a cheap SOB. The only way to know for sure is to put it on evilBay with a 3K reserve and see what happens. I hear there are folks in Nigeria who are interested in importing 300D's....

Fwiw...

Two years ago I paid $1800 for my one owner '84 300D; 265.000 miles. Perfect navy interior, arctic blue ext slightly faded with clearcoat going bad, A/C didn't work (turned out to just be a bad connection on the compressor). Good Michelins, bad paint on bundts.

Man, if I was that 17 year old, I would not be driving a car!!! IDIOTS!

It is a Mercedes, but that AC compressor problem is going to be a major turn off for most buyers... at least it would to me... maybe not a lot of others..

I think $2750 is fine..... I THINK....

Since it has chrome wheels, and that very nice steering wheel....

What part of the country has car spent it's time in? How much rust if any? what problems mechanically exist if any? Condition of tires? Dash? Can you substantiate milage? That will bring price up a little but forget carfax as a source generally. Anyways believe our site is a good place to dispose of car if done right. Too many weirdos bidding on ebay plus 0 bidders ruining auctions etc. But the choice is yours of course. Notice recently the price seems down a little on ebay average cars prices but might be my imagination. Know have had to stop considering cars on the bay as stretching the truth has become almost epidemic. So bad in fact if guy does not have a huge 100% feedback I do not want to even consider his car. .I think a lot of us legit buyers have backed away in the last while.
