Diesel now cheaper than regular gas!

I'm spending the week in Florida and just saw diesel at $2.29 which was below the price for regular. Hope it will be like that soon in the northeast so I can start to drive my Suburban D again.

There are always a handful of stations usually truck stops where that happens during the summer. At the station at Pleasant Dale and I-85 in Atlanta they usually have cheap diesel. It is always the cheapest in town. Their price is now very near regular gas and it should be cheaper soon!

Not in RI! Unleaded regular $2.27/gallon, Diesel $2.54/gallon. The cheapest diesel I have found is $2.33. RT

Are they smoking crack? How dare they charge less than regular gas!!!

Really. How can they do it? I'm getting screwed, um, charged $2.40/gal for diesel vs. $2.35 for premium gas?

Where in FL?

Where in Florida did you find that? Here in Orlando diesel is as high as $2.54 per gallon, but can be found for as low as $2.25 per gallon, while regular unleaded is between $2.19 and $2.26. The station where diesel is $2.54 has regular for $2.26... it's a Chevron that always has ridiculously high prices for diesel. I can drive 3 miles from that station to a Hess and find diesel for $2.25. Also back on the west coast in Pinellas County, I filled up for $2.249 while regular unleaded is at $2.21. Soon enough though, I think the price of diesel around here will be lower than regular unleaded. Just glad I'm not driving a premium-loving gas hog. That's up around $2.40 just about everywhere I see.

Take a breath and the price will change. Bought Sunoco diesel at a Fl Tpke exit last Sat for 2.19, today its 2.32. Sunoco premium is up to 2.39. GAsolene is starting to outpace the diesel.

They are building a Walmart 2 miles from my house. Between the Walmart and more combined trips, i think I can get down to 10k miles per year. Only four years ago my family was averaging 90k miles combined a year!! Thank goodness we are empty nesters.

I'll be glad when Diesel comes back down around here, or at least cheaper than gas is. Cost my 2.39 today, premium gas is only 2.34...

State taxes

I think it is the state taxes. I paid $2.19 in Jersey and at the cheap gas station here on the east end of Long Island it is $2.65.

I wouldn't take a chance on used motor oil, it'll have too much crud in it to kill an IP in a hurry.

Here in Michigan its VERY expensive. Diesel is around 2.32-2.38 and regular gas is around 2.48 midgrade around 2.58, and I've seen premium at 2.69 today!! Not cool since I have been driving the caravan around while I await my ebayed oil cooler.....the thing has guzzled half a tank in like 5 days!!! not even 120 miles of driving!! *mumbles anti-gasser comments to self.... I want my diesel back....I can't wait till friday when the cooler comes in

Diesel price

In San Francisco and East Bay area, Diesel is at $2.79 per gallon. Higher than super grade gasoline.

If lucky one can find it at $2.69 per gal.
