A Pillar Pod for the W123

Hello

I have finished my buck for the W123 A pillar pod - based on a sedan unit. I made it with THREE gauge pods available....

now I only want two.

I am asking if anyone wants me to vacuform them a copy in three before i destroy and change the buck to house two gauges...

I will make the change to two gauges the week of 04-10-05

thanks
Jake

no - but i can take a picture of the buck if you would like....

it is the same as any pillar pod you would normally see, as close as i could make...to fit, and be in line with the eye...

Just to confirm, this wouldn't fit on a 126 (87 SDL) would it?

Please post pictures!!! I would love to put gauges in hte 300TDT. My wife was just telling me the other day that I'm always tinkering w/ my truck and never her car & wanted to know why. THe quickest thing I thought of to tel her was that she only drives about 8K a year vs. my 30K a year. Mine has more wear and tear for problems to creep up on us.

as far as i know it will not fit anything else...but what i can say is that since it is based of an actual w123 inner cover for the a pillar, moddifying it to fit should be easier than using one from - mustang or civic...

i will go take a picture of it
thanks all
jake

OH - it was designed to use 2 1/16 gauges, and im not looking to make a killing on it, just want to help us all out...before i change it to two...even then ill still offer the 2 pod, as long as i dont break the buck...

OK, that looks good.....how much was we looking at?

I'm kicking around that or a panel to replace thee ashtray like I did in my W116. I like how the onse that fit into the dash vents look but I am not willing to give those up.

I am thinking 25 bucks plus shipping in its "raw" state and you cut and trim to fit to your liking...

I too like the vent gauges, but to me they seem a little out of place and in the air vent...not that this wouldn't look out of place, but at least it is a home for the gauges...the ashtray works too, and I use that also, but not for gauges that change quickly, or that you don't want your eye to wander too far to see...

to each their own
Jake

THat seems fair....let me roll the idea around for a bit and try to visualise the gauges there on my drive home.....I would do a boost, Exhaust Pyrometer and voltmeter there.....and would need to get vynal paint as I have a palamino interior.

Interested!!

I would, as well, be interested in a three-gauge A-pillar pod. I have always wanted a space for a boost/pyrometer, but was trying to think of what other gauge would be useful, and a voltmeter would be perfect. 25 bucks is decent too.

Why not just make a run of them so there's plenty for people to order in the years to come?

If you have to, maybe people can chip in to do a "run" so there will always be some available for "order"?

I'd be interested in the two gauge pod.
