I love them high milers! Those 2.5 engines seem to be pretty good!

"IF you are a true pipe smokin penny pincher with your radio tuned into NPR, I am sure there is somewhere on the internet to show you how to convert this diesel to run on used cooking oil and goat piss..."

Wow, that dude knows his pool of potential buyers quite well, don't he?

Heck if I could get it for $2k I'd buy it. Fix the windows, radio, grind out that rust, throw on a set of snow tires and it would make a nice winter car for 2-3 years. If the suspension is tight I bet you could get it on the road for another $1k, the trans must have been done at some point. Then I could dump it for $1k.

So just less then $2k to drive a decent 300D for 2-3 years and 30k-40k miles, sounds pretty decent to me.

I'd be willing to bet it had a new engine or some major engine work.. the hood looks like it's been off and not aligned correctly.

Maybe a valve job? Yeah I noticed that too. I wish I had the money I would be interested enough to drive up their and take a look.

2.5's had a weak spot for head gaskets leaking oil into the #1 piston combustion chamber from the timing chain galley.. I came | | <-- this close to buying one with 295k that had a bad gasket that was poruing oil out of the exhaust for cheap.. but didn't.
