I'd almost pay $$ for...

an mpeg of a W123 (any 4-door) power braking/clutch popping and creating **mounds of smoke** behind it. Please, can somebody find one for me ?

Here's the video.

Hopefully that link should work. It is a MASSIVE .wmv file, however.

I'd chip in a couple bucks to see anything that say's "Type R" or "VTEC" blow up.

A great engine

engatwork that is a great engine all protected against corrosion if you were not so far away I would be on my way to pick it up now before some miss guided person removes all your corrosion inhibitor.

My high school auto shop teacher has (had?) a 1.6L VW diesel permanently mounted on a test stand, with a rod sticking out of the block. The engine ran, albeit with an obvious miss. It did not leak oil, overheat, or knock. I thought that was pretty cool, and it led me to buy a Scirocco later on which a friend had wrecked, and I tried to kill it, but couldn't.

I saw a 1980 Chrysler Cordoba with a slant six engine once about ten years ago at an abandoned car auction. It had a hole in the block like the 300SD engine posted earlier, just above the oil pan. It started, ran with a miss, and drove, but spit oil out the hole. I almost bought it, bid until the $200 mark, but it ended up selling for $350. I wanted to save some of my cash for a truck, and ended up with an Aerostar with a bad transmission. But at $100 for that van, I sold the rear axle and springs for that $100 and got $60 for the rest in scrap.

Finnish Mersuforum has a collection of diesel SuperTurbo videos here in the English section of the board.

Some US friends have also posted their videos and comments there.

The video referred above is a first sample what has been created in the Finnish garages during the winter. There is more to come...
