definitely plan on adjusting the wastegate. from what i've read it's not so easy to get in there. how much time should i allow?

I assume you were testing the boost level while driving...not with the car stationary......stationary you are not going to get much boost....and contrary to what the manual says you will get a LOT more while driving.

I found that out while trying to set my boost controller.

That does sound like wastegate leakage.....Maybe carbon or a crack that is worse than a hairline fracture. It may be worth taking appart....if you have a sloppy turbine look into a good used replacement. If its good shape then it may be worth looking into the wastegate flapper condition.

Don't throw away ALDA's just because the seals may be worn! If they are corroded yes, but if not, new seals can be purchased. Also, alda's so I understand are available only from the dealership, and are very expensive, I have read!

So keep them, and if you have no future use, sell them to us here! :)

where can you buy the seals?

I think it was Whunter, or GSXR, (PM them) who listed here where they can be bought.

One thing to bare in mind, you will need to place the alda in a vise, and with a large philips screw driver that fits real snug and tight, either as a bit for a brace, or use a large pair of Vise Grips around the handle of a screwdriver to turn those four screws!

They are in there really tight and with thread-lock no less! ........BB
