As an Alaskan,
I hate to say that if we cut our state in half, Texas would be the third largest state in the union!

And without checking to see if my memory is correct or not I think mine locates me and identifies my MB projects plus some.

Phil,
You mean you drove through Texas and didn't go through SUMNER??? My post office is Sumner, but I live 12 miles away. Sumner only has a post office. There is no gas station, general store, or anything else there. Sumner is about 10 miles NorthEast of Paris, Texas. WAIT A MINUTE!!! YOU DIDN'T GO THROUGH PARIS EITHER??? If you look on a map, Paris is about 100 miles West of Texarkana. Seriously though, I live in the boonies and even people in Texas have never heard of Sumner or the community I live in which is named Georgia. ASE is the Automotive Service Excellence organization that certifies automotive technicians. A few years ago when my industry was in serious turmoil, I got my certifications for fear of having to twist bolts for a living and also just for the heck of it. I have not done auto work professionally for over 30 years, but I could if I had to. Have a great day, |

AK300td,
The famous Texas oilman Clint Merchison said, when Alaska was admitted to the union and told that Texas was now the second largest state, that all he would have to do is get together a few of his firends, throw a Texas size cocktail party in Alaska and by the time the got through using the ice Alaska wouldn't be much bigger than Rhode Island. I don't think this is true. I think the state would be at lest as big as Brewster county in Texas which is bigger than Rhode Island. |

Kip,
I'm surprised that there is only one county in Texas that is bigger than RI. There are several pretty big counties out in the Desert of West Texas. Have a great day, |

Good Grasious...............I have been through your neighborhood.....Larry...it was back in 1973. I do plan yet another, #5, cross country trip. This time I want to see, scenic route 70, through Colorado before making my way to Alaska. projected for 2008. Texas and Arizona, including another trip to Mohave, is in my plans. I'm contemplating which MB I will take! My 450SL is a serious contender, I do love to drive it! |

We've got glaciers that are bigger than Rhode Island! I've got an ice pick and some limes, bring a good bottle of tequila and lets see what we can do with all that ice! The borough we live in is about twice as big as Massachusetts, and has 1,800 residents and eight 123's. I'll start chipping ice!

ak300td,
You want something really good to go with all that ice try some margarita mix called 'On the Border'. It comes in a plastic bucker to which you add tequila and then freeze. We get it at Wal-mart and it is at least as good and mostly better than home made. Certainly better than the margaritas at 'Margaritas' cantana in the mercado in San Antionio. And a hell of a lot cheaper. Plus if you drink them at home you don't have so far to drive. I doubt that they would have them in the Alaska Wal-Mart but you migtht give it a try. I mean you don't have to be a Texan to be a drunk. |

Thanks! I'm always looking for a better margarita! Recently we've been using frozen limeade, a little triple sec and of course tequila. A lot more tart than a lot of the mixes and not near as sweet. Which reminds me...its margarita time!!! It hit 50* today so the snow will only last a couple more weeks, better use it while it lasts.
