Aargh! Steam cleaning the engine bay on the newly aquired SD caused taillights and headlamps to come on (with switch in off position). I am sure this is H2O related as everything worked good prior to the bath . I have hit all the electrical connections that I know about with contact cleaner to disperse an water. Has this happened to anyone? Any hints will be appreciated.

Had a situation once on a 240D where when the key was turned off, the parking lights would come on. Turned out to be a faulty headlight switch due to circut city breaking it without telling the owner trying to find a power signal for a radio install.

If I hadn't checked all the lights, signals out the night the car was delivered, I would be suspicious of the switch. - got to be water related

The culprit was a power junction located near the passenger side fender. The black junction box 1" x 3" had filled with water . Removed water - blow drier, and some WD40 and all is well.
