124 steering squeeks

I have noticed that when I turn the wheel on my 90 300D sedan, the steering squeeks. At low speeds I hear a similar squeek coming from what seems to be the suspension.

The shocks are HD Bilsteins, about 2 years old. I also replaced the steering shock at the same time. There is no noticeable difference in handling.
Do I need to lubricate something? With what, and where?

Many thanks for your comments.

Sounds like the ball joints or steering mechanism. These are sealed on your car, no grease fittings. You can lubricate them with an ordinary grease gun if you get a needle that fits on the end of the grease gun. They are only a couple of $$$ bucks at Wal Mart or auto parts stores.

You should NOT do this unless your joint is old and dried up because it makes a hole in the rubber cover.

If you are really picky, get your front end inspected and have the dried up squeaky parts replaced. But if they are not worn too badly a shot of grease will fix them.
