How much R-12 oil....

Hey,
How much R-12 oil do you add to a system that has completely lost it's charge and had the receiver/dryer and expansion valve replaced?

And does anyone know how many pounds of R-12 a '84 300SD takes for a full charge?

I know there are charts and tables for this stuff. If anyone knows I would appreciate it.

Danny

Now Danny, you did great on searching for the cam info...
This ac info is posted for sure....

but the short answer is... you must flush to be sure....

AND it IS important not to get too much...as it degrades the cooling capacity of your system... being in Orlando that may be important.....

When I replaced the compassor on my 91 124, I put 5oz of oil and 2lb of R12. I suggest to put in 1oz of dye for leak detection.

In all honesty I did search a lot for the cam info. I did not search for the AC info.
I thought it would be a simple matter for someone with the charts to post the info here.
If I had them and someone asked for them I would gladly look it up and post it.
But that's just me.

"I thought it would be a simple matter for someone with the charts to post the info here."

I know you did a great job searching for the #11 cam info...I could not find anything in my manuals and was surprised someone did not have that answer...

but " simple matter" involves being able to find that in one's computer if they have it.... and if already posted WON'T BE ALLOWED BY THE NEW SOFTWARE TO REPEAT THE GRAPHIC HERE.... so it would be a matter of finding it in my computer , trying to post it, being given the name of the original post it appears in ...
So " simple" may involve just finding the original post it is posted in by searching.
