But the driverside door locks? Does pushing down the other door locks lock all the doors? You have a leak or failure in the auxillary vacuum system that controls these locks. I got lucky when I bought my 85 300SD. One of the doors was stuck and the locking mechanism was unhooked. A little WD 40 and putting it back together and the locks work. I still need to take apart the drivers side door and put a little wd 40 on the key mechanism since it is stuck. I hope it is not the axulliary pump. If it is you can probably find one that has been salvaged. Lots of time taking apart the doors and the Miti vac to find a vacuum problem. Lots of luck!

On mine it was just the little section of flex hose at the pump, in the trunk, that needed replacing. You might be money ahead to check that area first. Hopefully you find something really simple.

Sometimes it's a crack developing in the line at the door hinge, I spliced mine with a rubber connector after opening up the rubber sleeve. But it's not that bad pulling off the door panel if you end up needing to, feel free to p.m. me if you want some tips, I've pulled mine plenty dealing with windows...
