Oil Pressure (I Searched!!!)

So can anyone give me normal oil pressure readings in PSI for a non-turbo 300td (84')? Can't seem to find it anywhere and it seems lower at idle after my last oil change. I put the Chevron diesel oil (can't remember the name), 15w-40 in and it seems really thin...car runs fine am I just paranoid?
Will

Question Why?

Your gauge reads BAR.
Use one of the free on line conversion bar to psi tools.

willyons,

Does the oil pressure go to full scale when engine is running hot at 1500RPM and stay above 1 Bar at idle?

If it does both of the above, oil pressure is OK.

Actually, my guage reades in PSI, and my temp reads in Fahrenheit. I'll do the conversion thing though...am I once again unique with the imperial units?

Smile Yes you are...

One BAR = 14psi.

If you are 14psi or higher = good.

Willyons,

Not Imperial units: Metric units. 1 BAR (Standard Barometric Pressure at Sea Level) = 14.7 PSI. Rounded off its 15 PSI.

It was just in the car. I have a clock where the tach should be, previously mentioned oil pressure and temp guages, and a fuel guage. That's it. I would take a picture, but I don't have a digi camera. The little dots on the speedo for when I'm supposed to shift gears are off too, unless you are supposed to rev the hell out of the poor little thang...

The dots are not intended to represent shift points. They indicate the maximum permissible speed in the gear that corresponds to the number of dots.

Psi

My gauge set is in PSI for erl press, temp in F, clock on the right side of the speedo & same size. The car was supposedly originally sold in France & went thru some kind of Federalizing procedure when it got here ---- there is a plaque on the door jamb about it. The front end (with its Euro bumpers) is jacked up about 3", and the instrument panel is as mentioned -- I assumed MBZ provided the parts ..... car was admitted in 87, I think ...
