How 'bout an old Land Rover?

I've got a Series III 88" Land Rover with a 616.912 in it. It's a great little engine in the truck and a perfect solution to the weak link that was the Rover engine. I'd drive that truck anywhere, and in fact, we're going to Newfoundland and Labrador in it this summer.

There's some info about it here if you're interested:

Seriestrek

Thanks for a great site! I visit all the time!

Looks like that 603 puts out a bit more power then stock!

MB actually made at least one of my dream diesel car.

SL400 CDI, I want one in black on black with 19in Brabus wheels. Throw on a louder exhuast and maybe a chip and it would be just about perfect.

I have been lucky enough to actually look at my dream car. S65 AMG holly crap nothing like a 5k pound sedan that can school all but the fastes sports cars!

woah thats cool! I like how you added the extra headlamps in the fenders like the more modern Defenders. Great pictures from past treks!

I think a E400 CDI engine in a R107 or a W126 SEC would be cool.

My only dream diesel conversion was back in the '80's when you could find many dead GM diesels for cheap. I was looking for a nice 78 to 80 Caddy Seville with a dead diesel and swap in a nice built 454 V8. Never got around to one sadly. Would have been a nice sleeper.

Well, a customer just came by in his brand stinkin' new Dodge Dually with the latest 'exposed' injector Duramax engine....'Chipped' !

The chip ups the HP to 514 and the torque to 820ft lbs.....I wonder how long the
Mickey Mouse chassis will take that !

Now if you put THAT in a late model UNIMOG, yer got a vehicle !
