Red face Water in the hatch on my wagon

When it rains a lot I get water inside the hatch on my wagon. It all pours out when I open the hatch, I guess "pours" isn't the right word for it. It comes out in a pretty stead stream untill it all comes out. It looks like the hatch is peeing on the ground. It comes out where the latch sticks out on the bottom of the hatch, and does it when the hatch is all the way open. Anyone know where the water could be getting in, and how to keep it out? Is the leak comming from the window seal on the hatch?

--Thanks--
Andrew

noah's td

you dont say what year but i have seen this on 123 td's. there is inadequate drainage in the back hatch and it is often the first place they rust. the water does probably come in aroound the window seal. i would caulk the glass/ rubber joint with black silicone. you of course can replace the seal with a new one for more money. i would also look for drains in the bottom of the hatch.. i cant remember if there are any from the factory.. if there are you need to unplug them, if none then i probably would drill some .25" holes after looking at the way the drain holes are placed in the doors,. and after drilling holes i would pain them with a high quality paint to prevent rust.
