I'm new here so pardon the question!

It seems to me that if you don't own a diesel there is nothing to discuss?

This is the "Diesel Discussion" portion of Mercedesshop.com. Click on the shopForum tab at top and choose your forum of choice. FYI, the open forum is time from your life you'll never get back......
There is also plenty to discuss if you just don't have a diesel yet

i've gone through my share of gasoline vehicles from japanese fours to american v8s, a 190e 2.3 and a 230e 124. i once frowned upon diesel engined vehicles because of my lack of understanding.

when i got my 300D 124, i wondered why i ever bothered with gasoline vehicles, i can't explain why but i was literally CONVERTED!

it's cheaper to run and it's much simpler from a mechanical standpoint.

Let's discuss why you don't own a diesel! We could also discuss why diesels are better than gassers in general.

Don't be so hard on yourself. These boards are not about who owns what, they are about sharing interests and sharing information. And getting support from people who understand what you are going through, possibly better than you do.

For a start you can read these posts for education or just for interest or pastime. They may help you make the decision, is a diesel Mercedes right for me or not? If the answer is no, you just saved yourself thousands of dollars and weeks or months of agonising. If the answer is yes, we could save you even more $$$$ dollars and agony.

So stick around, or not, as you please. It's free of charge and worth every penny it costs.

Actually, there are a LOT of electrical problems discussed, like Glow Plugs, instrument cluster lighting, cruise controls, suspension, alighment and other challenges that are common to almost any type of autombile. Stick around, you may like it!

Best Regards,
Jim
