How to adjust valves? 77 300
I at the beginning of checking and adjusting the valves on my 77 300D. I'm starting with #1 exhaust. Haynes manual says .305mm. I have the lobe point in place and the feeler guage won't apply. I need to increase the clearance. I've loosened the adjusting nut and the lock nut. Which way do I turn the adjusting nut to increase the clearance? Counter, or CCW?
Also, is it necessary to adjust the valves from front to back. Seems as though it would save a lot of turning just to adjust the next valve that is coming up to top? As long as I keep them in order. Thanks. JFC |

Check the archives in search function. Any lobe that is pointing away from rocker contact should be adjustable at same time. Just make sure to differentiate intake from exhaust valves as you are aware the clearances are different. Make a little chart to keep you straight. To increase clearance top adjuster nut goes clockwise I think but you will find out instantly anyways after you move it.
