Question adding headlight wipers

Hey all,
Well I have added a pair of Bosch Euro Headlights to my 1992 300D, and now I am considering adding a set of headlight wipers.

Problem: my car was not wired for the wipers so I would have to add that wiring plus a fluid pump for the wipers etc.

Has anyone done this?? Seems like it would be pretty easy but I'm not sure exactly how they work.

Do the headlight wipers come when you turn on the windshield wiper, including intermittent, on demand, etc? Are they on the same circuit? If anyone has a wiring diagrm that would be perfect...

What about the washer fluid pump does it send fluid when you wash the windshield, or intermittently when the wipers are on...

Any info would be helpful,
Thanks Jason

On model 124, the headlight wipers and washers come when and only when the headlights are on and you spray the windshield. There is no intermittent or constant setting for the headlight wipers, and installing them on a car not originally equipped for them sounds like a very involved project.

Thanks

Hey I bought parts from you on eBay... Excellent seller..

Thanks for the answer, that simplifys thing dramatically. Maybe I missing something but it sounds pretty easy to me, of course I also changes out the AC evaporator core on my 123 wagon, which I thought that was pretty easy too.

Really I only need a wiring diagram, I wonder if MB has a seperate wiring harnass that they sell for this???

MB does sell the wiring harness for this. It's mostly a matter of laying out the harness, and tying it in with the existing wiper/washer relay (or adding a new one, if required). You will need to get a new washer bottle as well. Be aware that the new harness runs to the alarm siren, the horns, the headlights (for main operation of the lamps, not just wipers) and the washer pump as well. The part number is 124-543-11-06 and it retails for around $260.

Alrighty then...

Looks like I'll be calling the junkyard or making my own...

I looked at my washer fluid bottle and it has and extra spot for another pump so that not a big deal.

Now to find that wiring diagram...I can't seem to get it off skinnerbox for some odd reason...

The part number I gave you is exclusive to the 1990-1992 300D 2.5T. The 1993 model has a different harness, also model specific. I'm not sure whether or not the harnesses from other 124 models will work
