"damaged the AT pump by draining?"

Carrameow, why do you feel you damged the AT pump by draining? If you learned a lesson the hard way, let us know. I am tired of learning the hard way alone....
I can't see you being careless about anything!! Do you have a line on a replacement, or are you going to rebuild?

My reasoning is not technical, its more philosophical. Sorry if I confused you. If I had not touched the system, it would not have failed. The car was running fine until I took out the engine. I'm starting to wonder if its Spooked.

I've seen cars in florida with some type of special "old car" plates. On the other topic I've lived in four different insular areas- USVI, Guam, CNMI, and NWHI. Couldn't vote for president in the CNMI which I lived the longest, and none have voting congressional representation.- no BFD if you ask me. Every one of those places benefits of being part of the USA in both direct $ from uncle sam and indirect non $ benefits which far outweigh the downside of not voting. Almost every poll taken shows residents want to keep the system the way it is.

Carrameow,

In regards to wondering if the car is "spooked"......Simply throw some holy water on it - - - If it catches fire, you know what the problem is.

As far as Florida "Collectible" plates goes... They did away with those cuz people were putting them on rust buckets so they could pay less for their plates; not because they were actually "collectible".

Show me where it says that because we are a republic, it doesn't matter whether our citizens be represented in Congress.

Could it be the part of the Declaration of Indedendance where Jefferson said this about the King of England: "He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only."

No, that's not it.

Maybe it's the "We the People" part of the Constitution? That doesn't really work, either.

Lincoln came too late to be a founding father, but I thought he was on to something in 1863 when he talked about how "government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

Help me out, here. I just don't see where it says that our republic does not depend on having freely-elected representation in Congress.

They teach this in High school Civic class.

We are a representative democracy...which is a republic.

A true and pure democracy is a not workible in a large scale its an even bigger circle jerk than you see in the Parlamentary democracies...

Noone is asking for pure democracy, but the citizens of DC have zero voting representation in Congress. I can't believe something like that is permitted to continue in America.

That's all. I'll be quiet now.

SO? let them be returned to Maryland....whats left of DC was Maryland before...one city doesn't deserve to count as a state just becasue its filled with liberals....

And again I say this is NOT the correct forum to be holding a discussion on this subject.

Larry. you may be on to something with the holy water. My most trouble free car now used to boil the hell out of the coolant itself. Self anointing? As for antique plates here. It has only recently become a concern since yearly registration fees have just about doubled for normal registration. Plus unreasonable insurance rates on normally plated vehicles. Frustration at mass failures can sometimes be minumised by believeing it can always be worse. The only problem I find is convincing myself at the time. Most my friends that have political leanings are just mad because they cannot get their fingers in the pie as well I believe.....
